Protecting Your Galaxy Fold 7 or Flip 7: Must-Know Tips
The foldable screen is advanced — but not indestructible. Here's how to keep it safe:
- Never press with your nail: The main display uses a flexible polymer, not traditional glass. Nail pressure can permanently dent or scratch it.
- Avoid folding it with debris inside: Even a small particle (like sand or lint) can cause internal damage when the screen folds shut.
- Don’t peel off the inner screen protector: It’s factory-applied and part of the display’s protective structure.
- Do not apply a third-party screen protector on the inner display: This can interfere with the touch sensitivity and damage the panel.
- If a vertical line or crease shows on the protector: Visit a Samsung authorized center. Replacement usually costs around $25–$35 CAD
- Use Samsung-approved cases: Generic magnetic or metal cases can interfere with wireless charging or the hinge.
- Keep it dry: Foldables are water-resistant (IP48/IPX8), but not dustproof. Avoid dusty pockets or bags.
- Don’t use sharp styluses or pens: Never use pens or nails.
