Under the hood, the iPhone 17e runs on Apple’s new A19 chip, built on advanced 3-nanometer technology. Apple says it offers a faster 6-core CPU, a 4-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine built to better handle modern AI features and demanding apps.

Another major upgrade is the new C1X cellular modem, which Apple says is up to 2x faster than the C1 in iPhone 16e while also being more power-efficient. That matters because it helps improve both responsiveness and battery life in daily use.

48MP Camera, Better Portraits, and 4K Dolby Vision

The iPhone 17e gets a 48MP Fusion camera with an optical-quality 2x Telephoto, giving users more flexibility without needing a second dedicated zoom lens. Apple also says the image pipeline improves portraits, HDR rendering, and low-light performance.

One of the nicest upgrades here is the addition of MagSafe. Apple confirms that iPhone 17e now supports both MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W, which is a welcome improvement over slower basic Qi charging on the previous-generation value model.

That also means full support for the broader MagSafe ecosystem — wallets, cases, stands, chargers, and other magnetic accessories that snap neatly into place.

Apple says the iPhone 17e starts at $899 CAD for the 256GB model, and it will also be available in 512GB. Colour options include black, white, and soft pink. Pre-orders begin March 4, and official availability starts March 11 in Canada.
