Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: The First "Ultra" Foldable

The "Ultra" name has always meant Samsung's top tier, and now it's on a foldable for the first time. Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra measures just 4.1mm thick when unfolded and weighs 215 grams — Samsung says it's the thinnest Galaxy Z Fold ever made, thanks to new Flex Titanium hinge technology that also reduces the visible display crease.

Under the hood it runs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with a 5,000mAh battery, paired with an 8-inch main display built around AI multitasking — Now Nudge, for example, notices when you'd benefit from Multi Window and opens it automatically, and Gemini Notebook can turn a PDF or audio recording into a summary, slides, or a podcast.

Galaxy Z Fold8: A Genuinely New Shape

Instead of a minor spec bump, the standard Fold8 gets an entirely new aspect ratio. Unfolded, the 7.6-inch main display runs 4:3 for movies and games; rotate it and it shifts to 3:4, closer to a book page for reading and browsing. The 5.5-inch cover screen runs a tall 10:16 ratio built for short-form content.

At 201 grams it's the lightest Fold8 in the lineup, backed by a 4,800mAh battery Samsung rates for over 26 hours of video playback. It also picks up Galaxy AI's My FanCam, which can automatically track and reframe a video around one specific person after the fact.

Galaxy Z Flip8: More Without Unfolding

Flip8 stays true to the compact form factor — 6.1mm thick unfolded, 180 grams, with a stronger frame and new hinge material for durability. The bigger story is FlexWindow, which now handles far more than notifications: Now Brief surfaces weather, schedule, and stock or exchange-rate updates without opening the phone, and you can browse the Gallery app or reply to messages straight from the cover screen.

The camera side gets Camcorder Grip (exclusive to the Flip line) for steadier one-handed video, Super Steady with horizontal lock, and Dual Recording, which captures both the person filming and their subject in the same shot.
